Grow Your Relationship with Jesus
Are you ready to have a more personal relationship with your Savior Jesus? Here are some helpful tips to get you started to grow your relationship with Him and how it will ultimately help strengthen the warrior within you!
Heaven is a Gift
As you begin to grow your relationship with Jesus, remember that Heaven is a gift of God. It is not something that can be earned.
“For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV)
Prayer for Accepting Jesus as Your Savior
If you want to show your Heavenly Father that you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, here’s a sample prayer you could say. Please remember, though, saying this prayer or any other prayer will not save you. It is only trusting in Jesus’ substitutionary death on your behalf that can save you from sin.
This prayer is simply a way to express to God your faith in Him and thank Him for providing for your salvation.
“God, I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him, I could be forgiven. I place my trust in Jesus, who took my place on the cross, and because He rose from the dead, I believe that I too will rise and experience everlasting life with Him in Heaven.
Thank You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness—the gift of eternal life! Amen!”
First Steps Towards Your Relationship with Jesus
After deciding to accept God’s incredible gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, you can begin to develop a personal relationship with Him! Here are the ABCs to help you take your first steps towards growing your new relationship with Jesus.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23 (ESV)
Believe that Jesus died for your sins.
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV)
Call upon the name of the Lord.
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 (ESV)
