Julie Van Gorp – Biography
Raised in a Christian home, Julie knew from the time she was a young girl that she loved Jesus and that He loved her. However, as she grew older she got caught up in pursuing worldly ambitions rather than pursuing a relationship with Jesus. At the age of 37 Julie realized the world would never satisfy the deepest desires of her heart and she finally surrendered her life to the Lord; she has been on an upward journey with Him ever since and has dedicated her life to wholeheartedly living for His glory and pleasure. Recognizing that studying the Word is vital to a growing relationship with the Lord, Julie not only has taken numerous in-depth Bible studies but she also has taught Bible studies for the past 17 years, both those written by others as well as studies she has written. Knowing that prayer is also an integral part of the Christian life, Julie has led a corporate prayer group for the past 15 years and currently is leading a weekly prayer group for national revival at her home church in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition, Julie provides biblical counseling to women of all ages, with a special heart for encouraging women to be godly wives who raise their children according to the bible and respond to the world around them with the truth of the gospel shared with Christ’s love. Julie holds a double undergraduate degree from Drake University in Communication and Sociology, and a masters degree in Social Services Administration from the University of Chicago. She is also a certified Life Coach. Some of her past career experiences include being the executive director of a home health care agency; a national vice president in an international health and wellness company; and a business and management consultant. Julie has been married since 1979 to her greatest earthly blessing–her husband Craig– and they have been blessed with a daughter, three sons and two daughter-in-laws.
