5 Ways God Shows Us We Can Defeat Fear in the Bible
When we remember God is the One in control, and He is the One who will lead us through fearful times, we can overcome any circumstance. As you read the below verses, take your time to reflect on His Words and remember you are never alone.
1. Pray to Him During Fearful Moments, and He will Deliver You from Your Fears
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.” Psalm 34:4-7
2. Seek Him, and He will Comfort You
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
3. Remember that God is Your Protector and He Fights for You
“You shall not fear them, for it is the Lord your God who fights for you.” Deuteronomy 3:22
4. Read His Word, He is Our Redeemer
“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.'” Isaiah 43:1-2
5. Search for His Kingdom, and You Will Never Be Alone
“If God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.” Luke 12:28-31
