Lord, awaken parents to the reality of the critical responsibility that You have entrusted to them to raise their children ‘in the fear and admonition of the Lord’, and that they will one day stand before You and have to give an account of how they have handled that sacred trust. (Deuteronomy 6) Awaken them to the reality that they have been given the primary role of raising ‘Your children’, regardless of what school option they choose—whether homeschool, private secular, private Christian or a state-run, government school.

Give them wisdom and discernment in this ever-changing culture that has rejected You & Your Word. Give them Your mind, Your heart and Your Spirit so they will be courageous, and so they’ll boldly, fearlessly, and sacrificially raise their children in accordance with Your Word and Your will. May the foundation of their parenting be Your Word, knowing that, ‘all scripture is breathed out’ by You and is “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work”.( 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV)

May they read, study, and mediate upon Your Word so that they are able to teach their children what is righteousness in Your sight and how to walk in Your ways that leads to abundant life. May they teach, admonish, and when necessary rebuke their children, understanding that You discipline those You love, and they as Your earthly representatives have been called to discipline their children as well. (Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 12:6)

Give them favor with their children who are at every level of education, and in every type of school. May open, honest, respectful communication exist between parents and their children. 

May they as parents take an interest in and be involved in their child’s education. May they be a source of encouragement to the many wonderful teachers who are dedicating their lives to the instruction of Your children, praying for them and communicating their support to them. May they also boldly stand up against those policies and curriculum that oppose the principles and commands found in Your Word, always speaking the truth in a spirit of love. (Ephesians 4:15)

Lord, please give to every parent all they need in order to parent their children in Your truth, and in a manner that is pleasing to You! Amen.
