Lord, thank You for the gift of my life! I long to be used for Your glorious purposes—to reflect You to a watching world and to share the life-transforming gospel with others so that they too will come to know You, the Source of all peace, joy and contentment. Create in me a clean heart, and renew a righteous spirit within me, so that all that I say and do will be pleasing to you. (Psalm 51:10) Knowing that Your Word reveals Who You are and what You desire, is the way to increase my faith in You, is full of wisdom and truth that I need to live a productive life, I ask that You would give me an insatiable desire to read, listen and obey Your Word. Through studying Your Word, daily prayer, regular fellowship with other believers, and especially through the power of the Holy Spirit, help me to grow in wisdom, in knowledge, in discernment, and understanding of You and Your will and ways, Lord. (Col. 1:9) I ask You to pour out upon me the spirit of divine revelation that I might know You, the Source of abundant and eternal life. (2 Peter 3:18; John 17:3)
May my love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight of You, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless when I leave this world in death or am raptured, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through You, Jesus. (Philippians 1:9-11) May I never do anything out of selfish ambition or vain conceit; may I always walk in humility as You do, not elevating my own interests, but always putting others’ interests above my own. (Phil. 2:2-4) Please give me eyes to see all that You have so graciously bestowed upon me, a heart full of thanksgiving and content with whatever You choose to give to me, and may I never grieve You by grumbling and complaining. (Phil. 2:14) May I never be slothful but diligent in all that I do, doing all things as unto You and for Your glory. Convict me of my sin, of Your righteousness, and of the coming judgment so that I might please You and walk worthy of the high calling You have given to me. (John 16:8-9; Ephesians 4:1) May I hate what You hate, and love what You love. (Psalm 97:10; Ps. 119: 13)
Give me the faith to comprehend the height, depth, width, breadth and length of Your lavish love for me so that I will be filled wit the full measure of You, the One Who is love. (Ephesians 3:14-19) And may I demonstrate my love for You by obeying the commands You have given to me for my good and for the glory of Your name. (John 14:15-17) Thank You for Your promise that if I obey You I will bear much fruit, the fruit that will last, which is the fruit of Your Holy Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (John 15:1-17; Galatians 5: 22-23) Give me an eternal perspective at all times so that I am not distracted by the deceitfulness of riches and pleasures of this world. Help me not to be ignorant of the schemes of the enemy to derail my faith and to take me off of the path of life that You have set before me. When I encounter trials and tribulations in this life, may I rejoice in them, knowing that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces godly character, and godly character produces hope, and hope in You will never lead to shame. (Romans 5:3-4) Who is unfailing in Your love and faithfulness.
May I at all times keep my focus fixed upon You, the Author and Perfecter of my faith, and may the desire of my heart above all else be to live a life pleasing to You so when I leave this temporary home to enter into my eternal rest I will hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant’. I ask this in the Name of Jesus, my Savior and Lord. Amen.
