Dear Lord, the ‘Alpha and Omega’ Who knows the beginning from the end and always is at work to bring about Your plans for the world and the people who live in it. I look to You knowing that nothing that’s going on in this current time in history when there are ‘wars and rumors of war’, confusion and chaos, has caught You by surprise or is beyond Your power and control. In Your loving kindness You have warned us that these days would come, and You have instructed us in what to do. Lord, consume our world’s leaders with the fear of You and give them wisdom to rule in accordance with Your will; protect those involved in the conflicts who  know You and love You, and use them to draw others to the saving knowledge of and faith in You. Give Your Church across the world the strength to endure what lies ahead in these last days and to remain faithful to You regardless of the cost, for You are worthy of all praise, honor, and glory, and even our very lives.

I believe that You are the One and Only true and living God Who created the world and  sustains it. Thank You that I can trust that You oversee all of the affairs of mankind, working everything out for the good of those who love You and for the glory of Your great name. Give me wisdom and discernment so that I will not succumb to fear or be led astray by the deception and apostasy that is sweeping churches, our nation, and the world. Give me eyes of faith to see You and help my heart not to be troubled as confusion and chaos appear to be reigning and the wicked appear to be winning. Help me to see that just as Satan thought he had won the victory on Good Friday when You, Jesus, were at work on my behalf through your crucifixion, paying the price of my sin and dying the death I deserved, that You always have the last Word! Death was swallowed up in victory because You rose from the dead! Just as You won the victory at Calvary, I can be assured today that the battle is Yours, and the victory is sure! 

I worship and adore You, the soon and coming victorious ‘King of Kings and Lord of Lords’! Give me the courage and strength to not grow weary in well-doing, but to be more vigilant and determined than ever to be about the business You have created and called me to do: which is to be conformed into Your image and to share in words and deeds the ‘good news’ of the gospel that alone has the power to save and gives hope, comfort, and assurance to others. Help me not to grow apathetic, discouraged or despondent in this wicked and perverse generation. Help me to have the desire and discipline to daily renew my mind in the truth of your Word so I will be encouraged by You, and led to eliminate from my life everything that stirs up fear within me and distracts me from accomplishing the mission You have entrusted to me. Give me a laser-like focus to fix my eyes upon You, ‘the Author and Perfecter’ of my faith; and give me a heart that dwells upon that which is ‘noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy’ in Your sight. May I demonstrate my love for You by obeying Your commands, especially Your command to love You with all of my heart, soul, mind and  strength, and to love others as You have loved me. Teach me to number my days and give me understanding of the urgency of the hour so I will live every day of my life in light of eternity and for Your pleasure and glory. I pray this in the Name that is above every name, the Name of Jesus! Amen.
